Midwest Furfest 2015 - Fur in the wider world

This was my first attempt at public speaking in the fur community, and it will not be the last. My thoughts during this panel are scattershot and don't cover even close to everything (I was more concerned about not being overly emphatic in front of an audience than with the exact content of my speech), but it's a start. I believe there is a world of good our group can provide that has been only barely been explored up to this point, and it's going to take a lot more digging and scrutinizing to bring it into focus.

For now, however, my concern is in learning how to convey a point to an audience and use their feedback intelligently. To that end, I've watched this video a dozen times for weaknesses (and strengths) in my presentational style. I'd enumerate them here, but I'd rather have whoever's watching comment independently so that my own critiques don't color the conversation. This--like all things--is a learning experience.

Of course, a big shout-out to Rex for helping me out with this, bringing his side of the story and a human-sounding cadence to the panel.

Machination Log 004 was recorded the day after I finished this panel, hence the overlap in subject matter:

I refer to "Nuka" and the IARP. This is the home for that information. I recommend perusing it yourself:

I've reached out to him for clarification on the "dehumanization" question, which I pulled from one of his talks.
